Do you like travelling by boat?
Well, in fact, it totally depends on the type of travel and the destination you are headed. What is so intriguing about boat riding is to be far away from the hustle and bustle of the city, far far away in the quietude of nature, on a boat on an alluring wide river lined by tall trees. Lying on the boat and let the slow stream carry you down while chatting with friends can be a legendary experience.
Do you want to own a boat?
Who doesn’t? but as I told you, not in the city. I dreamed of having one when I was younger, and my dream came true when my uncle, who lives in the countryside, had one of his friends craft a simple one. Whenever I manage to go there with some friends of mine, we get on it and let it glide down the river.
Does it rain a lot in your hometown?
Well, since I live in a mountainous region, heavy rains and snow have always been with us. In my hometown, it does not rain as much as in the northern parts of my country where the lush green forests lie.
Do you like rainy days?
Of course, I do. I am passionate about walking with my umbrella when it drizzles in spring and fall; however since at the moment I live in a megacity and I have to undergo being stuck in traffic congestion when I go to work and back, rain equals trouble.
Is there any part of your country where it doesn’t rain much?
Well, my country Iran, is a vast country where you can find four seasons in every four corners of the country. To the north, lush green forests lie with occasional rains and to the center and the south vast deserts and desert cities lie with rare rains.
Can you remember any time when it rained particularly heavily in your hometown?
Yes, indeed. I remember when my brother and I were little kids and our grandmother took us to a neighboring park. I remember when I was lying on the lawn and watching the clouds gather; after a little while, when thunder rumbled, our grandmother grabbed our hands and urged us to run back home. I remember we were caught by heavy rain and were soaked to the bone before we were back home.
Does rain ever affect transportation in your hometown?
Well, as I already mentioned, it does. I believe since the highway system is not well managed and well-constructed, light rain can put the whole city into an state of chaos and it is when unfortunately you cannot reach your appointment or your workplace.
Whenever I picture my dream house, my wild imagination places it in the northern part of the metropolitan city I live, I mean the part where the rich people live. I am not much mesmerized by living in the peace of suburbs, I am passionate about the buzz of city life because there are a great number of things to do and numerous people to get to know. The house, however, I love living in must be in the quiet part of the city near the mountains.
I adore houses with big yards where a traditional fountain with fish swimming in it. I adore sitting under a tree and reading books. As to the interior design of the house, I love it to be big enough with at least 3 to 4 bedrooms enough for the friends who come over to parties. Well, I am a party man and apartments are not appropriate for the likes of me as I love loud music and partying from night till dawn itself.
I am not much interested in luxuries, but I love to hang beautiful paintings of famous painters I am in love with such as Salvador Dali, Jackson Pollock, Rene Magritte and some other abstract and surrealist painters. Some comfortable sofas and a big LED TV will do fine as I am a video gamer too. and I always love the company of a good friend, a nice roommate who could help me around the house with the mess after the parties we throw.

Sample answer to the 1st question
Well, due in large part to the great influence of modernization, Iranians, who used to prefer big houses, built a lot of apartments and moved in them. In big cities, it is expensive to rent or buy houses with traditional design. Besides, it is no longer safe to live in houses. Nowadays, our country is undergoing urban sprawl and as you drive along highways outside the city, you witness clusters of towers.
Sample answer to the 2nd question
In fact, since Iranians hold their furniture dearly when they tend to move, it is always with a lot of worrying for their objects. Moreover, the process of finding a home with reasonable rent and deposit is another story which does demand a lot of energy and patience from you.
A sample answer to the 3rd question
The youngsters living in big or maybe even smaller cities would rather have their own home because families are religious and they may find it hard to throw parties or have some hours of privacy with their partners. That is what I prefer: a private home of my own.
